9:30 AM – Arrive at Broadway Station and Walk to Castle Island

Take a walk around Castle Island to see the wonderful views of the Boston Harbor. There isn’t a better way to start your adventure.

Route recommendation: Take bus no. 9 from Broadway Station for a 10-minute ride or enjoy a scenic 25-minute walk to Castle Island along the South Boston Waterfront. Check possible route options here!

10:00 AM – Explore Fort Independence at Castle Island

The Fort Independence is a historic granite fort dating back to the 17th century. You can enjoy a self-guided tour or check out if there are any free public tours to learn about the fort’s history and role in Boston’s defense.
